History Tours Return to Hawley Winterfest, with a Holiday Theme

From exquisite moldings, massive doors, and sweeping stairs to a simple yet memorable (and mysterious) structure which bespeaks of the nation’s early days when farming and self sufficiency played a pivotal role in everyday life, to an adaptive use of an Arts & Crafts influenced homestead where the sweet fragrance of baking fills the air, to the home and host of a service organization responsible for ceremonial, patriotic, and community activities – these will be the featured venues when the Holiday History Tour returns to Hawley Winterfest 2023.

The original details in these four very diverse places have been lovingly preserved and enhanced, and are astonishingly original and true to their intended form and function. This fact, coupled with the intimately knowledgable docents/principles sharing stories and information about each promises to make this tour one that is not to be missed.

The History Tour will take place on Saturday and Sunday, December 9th and 10th as a part of Hawley’s annual Winterfest celebration, and is a self-guided tour available from 10 a.m.. to 4:00 p.m. (with the last stop requested by 3:30 each day) All four locations are within close proximity in Hawley Borough.

Guests may stop by the Downtown Hawley Partnership office at 519 Church Street, Hawley, beginning at 9:45 a.m. either day to purchase your tour pass (wristband) and detailed tour map at which time exact locations will be revealed. Tour cost is $20 per person. For additional information contact the Downtown Hawley Partnership at 570-226-4064.
