Community Pantry Project
Hawley Winterfest is sponsoring a community outreach program to support our local food pantries. During your visit to town, please think to stop by one of these collections sites with your donation to fill our local pantries. Suggested items include canned fruit, breakfast cereals, pop tarts, and breakfast bars, Tuna Helper and Chicken Helper, jams & jellies, peanut butter, crackers, canned tuna, and canned chicken, pancake mix, syrup, personal care items.

Trees for a Cause Everyone is invited to participate in decorating a Tree for a Cause (Cause/Charity/NonProfit). Trees will be on display at The Hawley Hub during the Hawley Winterfest December 4th – 12th. Each participant will show off their tree decorating skills and compete to raise money for their select cause. All participants are encouraged to share their tree via social media. help us in voting for the best-decorated tree by giving a donation during the event. Form and details here.
Winterfest Snowman Display Contest Everyone is invited to participate in creating a snowman for the festival. Snowmen will be on display around the DHP Lake Region Area from December 4th – 12th. All participants are encouraged to share their snowman via social media. Follow us on Facebook & Instagram and see the creative Snowmen around town and in your region. Vote on your favorite. Dorflinger Glass Factory Opening Reception for – A White House Christmas: White House Christmas Cards Through the Years’ – 5 – 7 pm Join us for a reception with light refreshments in the Museum to accompany the opening of our special exhibit entitled A White House Christmas: White House Christmas Cards Through the Years. Tour the Dorflinger Glass Factory museum and as an added bonus shop the “Art Under $100” by local artists. Location: 5 Elizabeth St., White Mills. 5 – 7 pm
Candlelight Christmas – Dec. 3-5, 5:30 – 9 pm – Celebrate the season with an enchanting, festive event. Enjoy Holiday Punch, Syllabub, Passed Hors D’Oeuvres, Horse and Carriage Ride, Farm to Table Feast, and Handcrafted Holiday Desserts. Hawley Winterfest Parade – Young and old alike will feel the holiday excitement when festive floats, music, and other entries from local groups make their way to Hawley’s beloved Bingham Park for a bonfire, photo ops, and more. When the park festivities end, make your way back to enjoy friendly merchants, craft and artisan vendors, eateries, and specialty shops. We hope to see you there. We invited Santa too! Parade Route – Spring Street to Bingham Park. Step-off at 12 Noon
Teeters’ Furniture Holiday Gift Fair – Great Holiday gift ideas from over a dozen local crafters and vendors. Location: 327 Main Ave., Hawley, 10 am – 4 pm

Winterfest Brunch – Dec. 4-5, 11:30 am – 2:30 pm Enjoy a festive holiday brunch featuring live music by Julie Eschler on December 4 and 5 and harpist Kristy Chmura on December 11 and 12. Prix Fix menu. $44 per person plus tax and gratuity. Location: The Settlers Inn, 4 Main Ave., Hawley, 570-226-2993
Horse and Carriage Rides – Dec. 4, Post-parade starting at approximately 1 pm – 3 pm. Miss Elly’s Antiques & Such, 518 Church St. After the draft-horse carriage team delivers Santa to the bonfire in Bingham Park as a highlight of the Hawley Winterfest Parade, you’ll want to take your own horse-drawn carriage ride. $10 per person
Santa’s Christmas Tree Express – Trains are running on the 4th, 5th, 11th & 12th. Time: 11:15 am. Climb aboard for a special Christmas experience with a ride on the Stourbridge Line. Travel in comfort in our heated coaches as we dash down the tracks to our trackside Christmas Tree Farm. Once we arrive climb off the train (steps required) to visit with Santa, pick your favorite Christmas Tree, and enjoy complimentary Hot Chocolate. Passengers will have approximately one hour to visit Santa and choose and purchase that special Christmas tree. We’ll bale and tag it and you can watch it being loaded on our flat car. Then passengers and trees will be returned to the station. Once the train arrives back at the station our crew will unload the trees from our flat car and place them so you can take them to your vehicle. Please note that the tree cost is an additional cost. Christmas trees are priced individually and sold by Dein Nurseries. Prices will vary according to the size and variety of tree. Wreaths & potted trees also available. $25/adults, $15/children, infants/free. Location: Hawley Train Station, 4 Columbus Ave.

Celebrate Music– Main Level. Sat. 4th. Enjoy Rich Faschan, a local musician, as he performs a selection of his songs.
Celebrate Authors – Main Level. Sat. 4th. Meet local authors Will Wyckoff, Elaine Leet, Bob Eckstein, John Harvey, Lillian Corrigan, and Deann Mensch. Books will be available to purchase.
Celebrate Baking – Main Level. Sat. 4th. 10 am – 12:45 pm We’re serving up a yummy selection of goods baked by our HPL Board and Friends group members. All proceeds benefit our library!
Celebrate Art – Lower Level. Sat. 4th. 10 am – 12:45 pm. Come create a fun winter craft with Ms. Mary any time between 10 am and 12:45 pm.
Celebrate Stories – Lower Level. 11 am. Gather ‘round the Big Blue Rug and listen in as local author D. L. Mensch reads her book, ‘Smokey’s Christmas Adventure’.

Woodloch’s Holiday Craft Fair – Dec. 5th only. One-stop shopping for all sorts of holiday goodies! Browse an assortment of handcrafted items from 40+ vendors including jewelry, candles, wood, crafts, soaps and lotions, ornaments, glassware, holiday decor, hand-painted crafts, and baked goods. *Masks required. Hawley Historic Walking Tour – Dec. 5 & Dec. 11. Experience a guided tour of 6 historic locations in the downtown Hawley area. At each location, meet a historic character and take part in the interesting history of our town through stories and dramatic interpretation. Fun for the whole family! Featuring The WAHS Players.

Undecorate a Tree and Visit Santa – Dec 4, 5, 11 & 12. Visit with Santa and Mrs. Santa which includes a complimentary photo emailed to you. Undecorate A Tree requires a purchase of $25 or more to remove an ornament from the tree which will be yours to keep. Look for B.’s hand-crafted souvenirs depicting Hawley scenes. First Presbyterian Church of Hawley 20th Annual Cookie Walk – Dec. 11 only. Choose your favorites from over 25 varieties of cookies and select from our new table of Christmas goodies! Cookies are $10 per pound and specialty items are $5 per bag. After visiting the Cookie Walk we invite you to stay and enjoy special holiday music which will be performed in our sanctuary throughout the morning.
